Focusrite is launching its fourth Liquid solution, Liquid Mix 16. Combining the same pool of classic EQ and Compressor emulations with a killer control surface, Liquid Mix 16 brings the sound of the priceless and the historically significant, within reach of even the most modest studio owner.
Each of the sixteen mono channels (or eight stereo channels) provides Compressor and EQ emulations selectable from a huge pool of high-quality vintage and modern day classics. Forty Compressors and twenty EQs are available straight out of the box, with some additional emulations already online, available for free. As with Liquid Mix, a hybrid seven-band 'super EQ' is available in every instance, built out of separate classic EQ sections. Each channel appears as a separate VST/AU/RTAS effect within the sequencer and will work within all major sequencers. Liquid Mix 16 launches with Liquid Mix v2.2 software, ensuring compatibility across all major platforms, for both Mac and PC, and including the latest side-chain processing options.
The same optional expansion card will be available for both Liquid Mix and Liquid Mix 16. With Liquid Mix 16, the card allows users to increase the number of available channels at 48kHz from 16 to 24 (sold separately). Installed in the original Liquid Mix, the card enables additional channels at higher frequencies up to 192kHz. This card is simple to install and fits neatly into the underside of both units.
Liquid Mix uses the same patented Dynamic Convolution process as Focusrite's other Liquid products. Unlike standard convolution techniques, Dynamic Convolution utilizes vast processing power to sample the effect of a classic processor on a series of audio pulses, at many different gain settings and frequencies. All this processing is done using onboard DSP, so the processing has a relatively low effect on your computer's own CPU, (variable subject to the sequencer used). Liquid Mix's DSP is housed within an elegant desktop control solution and connects to the computer via Firewire, also providing bus-powering. The physical metering, and most rotary controls and buttons from the original Liquid Mix are provided here. The hardware helps to provide a tactile ergonomic solution, placing the sounds of an array of classic processors at your fingertips. You can choose to control each channel either from the desktop control unit or an alternative controller, or from within the sequencer using the same simple Liquid Mix GUI, which functions exactly like a plug-in.

ik zag op een video ( youtube) dat het om 299 pond ging, zo uit mn hoofd is dat zon 400 euro?.. ( rekenen is niet mn sterkste kant, zeker in dit geval niet omdat ik de koersen niet ken )

Waarom niet gewoon alleen als software met bijvoorbeeld ilok beveiliging zodat we met onze quadcore processors zelf kunnen bepalen hoeveel mono/stereo-tracks we gebruiken.
Zijn we ook meteen af van dat firewire gedoe op een pc met pci firewire kaarten e.d.
Die afstand bediening hoeft voor mij ook niet zo,ben persoonlijk het muizen gewend geraakt.

wat is het nut van een dsp bak als je er een software variant van gaat maken... persoonlijk snap ik ook niet dat mensen nu persee een pci kaart willen, ik vind het juist een verademing dat er een betaalbare dsp bak is waar je ook nog wat aan knopjes kan draaien, die gewone liquid mix staat zeker op m'n verlanglijstje nu...
Het grootste voordeel vind ik nog wel dat je de plugins niet hoeft te kopen, ze gaan meer simulaties maken en die kan je dan gewoon downloaden.
Bij een beetje UAD kaart ben je toch wel veel meer geld kwijt wil je er wat leuke plugins bij aanschaffen.

Ben het wel eens hoor. Alleen leek mij een PCIe versie een logischere zet van Focusrite. Dan hadden ze voor het zelfde geld als nu deze LM16 een PCIe versie met dezelfde power als de gewone LM. Bovendien bedien je dan de mensen die niet van gezeik houden MBT Firewire in hun studio en dat zijn er natuurlijk ook nogal wat.
En die controller tja,.. leuk ding hoor maar daar zou ik geen LM voor kiezen. De knoppen werken allemaal in zgn. 'steps' en tot overmaat van ramp is een zo'n step vaak een veel grotere waarde dan dat je met je muis werkelijk kan finetunen. MAW, gain make up gaat op de controller in steps van 1.7 db terwijl je met je muis (of andere controller) steps van bvb 0.1 db kan maken. Leuk he? (NOT)
