Ik doel op die MK2. Ik zit in bepaalde MPC groepen en je ziet mensen die amper met een MPC om kunnen gaan nu alweer op deze bandwagon springen. Want is nieuw en glinstert zo mooi van een afstandje.

Helemaal eens. !
Wat ik me ook al afvroeg is dat mensen met zulke dure apparatuur en spullen vaak zulke rottige muziek kunnen maken.
Het is niet een en al negatief bedoeld. Anderzijds blijkt dat men (inclusief mijzelf) dat de mogelijkheden van de instrumenten niet tot zijn recht komen.
Omdat men inderdaad de mogelijkheden niet kent.
Vaak moet men het van en toevallige tip hebben voor wat er nog meer mee kan.

Die zou ik nooit aanraden.
De MPC's komen wel van dezelfde hand, maar zijn een behoorlijke sprong verder. Ze zullen niet voor iedereen lekker werken (de MPC's) met hun specifieke workflow.
Maar hij blijft aan me trekken en is (op papier) de gedoodverfde volgende box die bij mij binnen komt.
Heb hem nog nooit vastgehouden overigens, alleen van uren en uren turen naar 'normale' mensen die er muziek mee maken. (dus niet de betaalde youtubers die overlopen van enthousiasme bij elk instrument wat ze ontvangen)

De SP-404A en de SP-404SX (Het verschil daar ben ik nog niet achter gekomen)
Heb ze nu al een tijdje allebei. Net te vroeg voor die SP-404MKII maar toch geen spijt.
Met twee zijn er meer mogelijkheden ook voor re-sample van de ene naar de andere. (live analoog)
En meer knoppen tot de beschikking met de twee, twee maal zo veel dan.
Die oudere types zijn degelijke NO-NONSENSE kastjes.
Las ik ook op de Engelse forums (commentaar onder de YouTube)
Daarmee maakte ik "de stoelgang van een communistische dictator" :dubbel:

Maar het lijkt er op dat ze te veel in een klein kastje hebben willen proppen.

Daar behoor ik niet toe.

Achtergrond geluidjes die makkelijk gestapeld en gemixt kunnen worden.

wat me bij die SP's nooit duidelijk is geworden: verwijzen de gebruikte samples in je patterns naar de exacte positie op de SD card, of laadt je ze in in een project?

Ik bedoel: ik heb een mapje op de sd card met daarin 99 hi hat samples... ik gebruik hihat001.wav in een pattern.. Kan ik dan die hihat001.wav later verwijderen uit die dat mapje zonder dat m'n pattern die sample mist? Dus, laadt je een sample in een pattern/project of speelt die de sample direct vanaf z'n locatie op de sd card??

Can the mk2 stream audio from SD like previous SPs?

No, the mk2 cannot stream audio from SD. It can only import and export samples and projects, or backup/restore the entire system from SD.

Ik heb geen 404 ervaring, maar met al die extra functies wordt het wel een apparaat wat je heeeeeel vaak moet gebruiken om te kunnen onthouden wat via welke knopcombinatie werkt.

man, ik krijg al hoofdpijn van als ik al die pad combinaties zie die nodig zijn..... Ze hadden die display wel wat beter kunnen gebruiken zodat je ziet in welke mode hij nu is.... Hij wordt juist onaantrekkelijker met al die complexe nieuwe functies..

En die pad mutes, of motion recording.. die basis functies hadden er al vanaf het begin op moeten zitten..

Vanmorgen meteen update gedaan. De nieuwe midi functionaliteit maakt de mk2 een stuk handiger in een set meer meer hardware gear. Hiervoor werden 10 verschillende midi kanalen gebruikt, elke sample bank kreeg er standaard 1 toegewezen. Bij de nieuwe modus worden er maar 2 kanalen gebruikt die je ook nog zelf kunt toewijzen.

Alle knoppen combinaties ken ik niet uit mijn hoofd, maar het is voor mij een ideaal apparaat on snel iets op te nemen van telefoon, computer of tv om vervolgens dit te gebruiken in nummers.

Misschien kan Roland in een volgende versie voor jou in plaats van een D-Beam een Zeikstraal inbouwen. Hoeft je dat ook niet meer zelf te doen.
