1. Multi-Timbral Issue

Ik gebruik de spectrasonics Stylus RMX for beats, hihats etc.
Goede plugin maar loop tegen het volgende aan:

Ik maak een multi-timbral instrument aan (Stylus) in Logic met 8 tracks. Echter is het zo dat alle toepassingen (bijv. EQ, compressor, etc.) direct gelden voor alle componenten (hi-hats, kick, etc.) Natuurlijk kun je in de Stylus apart effecten en modulatie toepassen maar zou het graag met de native plugins van Logic doen.

Is het mogelijk om bijvoorbeeld de EQ op elke afzonderlijke track te kunnen aansturen? Allemaal aparte tracks aanmaken kan altijd natuurlijk maar is niet echt de meest handige oplossing...

Wie o wie weet raad?


2. Professionele Drum (kick)

Ik ben nog niet zo heel lang bezig met produceren maar het is mij nog steeds een raadsel hoe ik een echt lekkere diepe kick (drum) kan realiseren. Wel al met de EQ bezig geweest, compression, subbass plugin etc maar krijg niet de kwaliteit die ik hoor bij 'professionele' producties.

Ik moet zeggen dat ik naast de Stylus niet echt in bezit ben van een dedicated drumcomputer. De kicks in Stylus, voor zover ik die ben tegengekomen, zijn niet diep genoeg. Momenteel gebruik ik daarom de sample kicks van de Venguance minimal cd (1) als basis. Heeft iemand tips mbt bovenstaande?

Gear tot mijn beschikking:
Logic 9 studio, Apogee Duet, KRK rokit 5 speakers, sylenth1, rp predator, omnishpere, trillian, stylus RMX... ja, ik weet het, alle commerciële dingen die een noob als eerste zou kopen

ow, en wat betreft de kicks: deze klinken dikker als andere dingen niet in de weg zitten. Probeer een stukje lage frequenties voor de kick te reserveren door andere instrumenten te filteren onder (bijvoorbeeld) 150 hz.

Ik heb het geprobeerd maar krijg het niet werkend met de Stylus RMX.
Met Ultrabeat van Logic lukt het wel.

Ik doe het volgende:

1. Create New Track > Number 8 > Multi-trimbal
2. Vervolgens bij I/O Stylus RMX (Multi-output) kiezen.
3. In de Mixer pagina de Aux kanalen toewijzen. Vervolgens komt er netjes Stylus RMX 3-4; bij de volgende Aux Stylus RMX 5-6 te staan etc
4. Dan alle midi files van de geselecteerde geluiden (drag and drop) in de sequencer (track)
5. Druk op play maar er komt geen signaal binnen op de Aux kanalen???

Ik heb het net gevonden op een ander forum... Ik moest ze nog toewijzen in Stylus RMX zelf!

Starting from scratch, create a new instrument track, click Multi-Timbral, change the number of tracks from 16 to 8, leave the output set to Stereo Out. This will create 8 new tracks in the arrange window.

Select the first, and in the I/O section of the channel strip load AU Instruments->Spectrasonics->Stylus RMX->Multi Out (8xStereo) This will make a further seven stereo pairs available in the mixer, although it won't be obvious at first.

Open the mixer. On the far left, just above the dB strip, there is a plus sign. Clicking this his brings up an add auxiliary tracks dialog. Add seven new stereo auxiliary tracks. (The original instrument strip you loaded RMX into will stay on Stereo Out, and will output Stylus Ouput A.)

Click and hold the input field of the first new aux strip. You should see choices for input 1-2, no input, and pulldown menus for input, bus, and whatever multi-output instruments you have added. In my case that's Inst1 for Omnisphere and Inst 2 for Stylus. Opening the Inst 2 pulldown menu gives me choices of

Stylus RMX 3-4
Stylus RMX 5-6
Stylus RMX 7-8
Stylus RMX 9-10
Stylus RMX 11-12
Stylus RMX 13-14
Stylus RMX 15-16

Set each of the auxiliary track inputs to a different stereo pair, and in the Stylus RMX mixer set outputs for tracks 2-8 to B-H

Each should now play through its own aux track, and only channel one (which is still set to Out A) should play through the original mixer track.

This is working for me now. Give it a try!
