Access brengt nieuwe applicatie uit voor het TC Powercore platform, de Virus Powercore:

PowerCore can finally boast a new virtual instrument to the growing arsenal of third-party plugins with the news that Access Music, the makers of the much acclaimed Virus range of synthesizers have announced the Virus PowerCore, a virtual version of the Virus synthesizer for the TC Electronic PowerCore PCI and PowerCore FireWire DSP card.

Based on the Virus Engine, this plug-in puts more sonic ammunition at your disposal than any other PowerCore compatible synthesizer available at present. With its 16 voices and three oscillators, two parallel multimode filters and extensive modulation matrix, the Virus PowerCore is more than just another virtual analogue synth. Just the effects section itself could justify this plug-in to be called a multi-effect processor. Virus PowerCore can be used as a VST Instrument for Windows, MacOS X as well as an Audio Unit. The actual synth engine runs on one of the DSPs of the TC PowerCore and therefore doesn’t put any strain on your host CPU.

About the Sound Engine
Three oscillators plus sub-oscillator, three LFOs, 2 multi stage envelopes, tons of parallel effects and the Virus highly sophisticated modulation matrix explain why the Virus has proved to very popular for analog synthesis. Every feasible parameter can be sync’ed to an incoming clock and even the FX parameters can be adjusted in realtimeÊÐ without any unwanted artefacts thanks to Access’ acclaimed Adaptive Control Smoothing technology. For those who prefer to use the 4000+ free pre-programmed sounds from the Access website, there is good news as well:

Patch Management The intuitive patch management system gives you total control over thousands of patches organised in an automatically created hierarchical menu. The file format is the same Standard MIDI File used by the hardware viruses. “Recently used Items”, “Favourite Items” and “Patch Categories” make browsing huge libraries a truly enjoyable experience.

About the Easy Page
Nowadays where the typical computer musician has to deal with dozens of applications and interfaces it becomes increasingly hard to remember where a certain parameter is located. One way out is Access’ “Easy Page” concept which consolidates the most important parameters on one page and allows the musician to focus again.

About the innovative licensing scheme
Along with the Virus PowerCore Access also presents a new and innovative software-licensing scheme. In short: you don’t pay for what you don’t need. The Base Package offers a licence which enables up to four plug-in instances utilising one DSP (16 voice, 4 instances). A Multi DSP License can be obtained on top of the Base Package which allows the Virus to be instanced on all PowerCore DSPs simultaneously. With one PowerCore PCI, you’ll get 64 voices and 16 instances - with 4 PowerCores you’ll enjoy a 256 voice, 64 instances Virtual analog monster! Ik meen gelezen te hebben dat dit een add-on voor de normale license is.....die moet je dus wel eerst kopen!

32stemmig en 8 parts is zat voor mij! dan zou ik nog een halve powercore over hebben als ik die had...voor anders spul...


Is dit hetzelfde ale een virus C?

Ik heb dus zo'n virus powercore, en heb heb pas geupdate naar de unlimited versie.
Erg fijn, nu is het niet meer noodzaak om altijd de virus plugin op de 1e processor te moeten draaien.
Dit is de hoofdreden dat ik heb geupgrade, in de praktijk is 1 virus plugin openen meer dan zat.
Je moet het wel heel bont maken wil je er vier tegelijk gebruiken(16 parts).

Dit is de hoofdreden dat ik heb geupgrade, in de praktijk is 1 virus plugin openen meer dan zat.
Je moet het wel heel bont maken wil je er vier tegelijk gebruiken(16 parts).

Ik gebruik ook echt nooit de 16 parts van mijn Virus C desktop...... Ik kom wel eens op 7 ofzo als ik een aantla drumsounds uit de virus haal en daarnaast nog een leadje maar hoger komt ik nooit.

Vindt het nog wel steeds ruk dat de delay enzo globaal is. Is dit op de Virus Powercore anders?

Ja, ik gebruik eigenlijk alleen de controllers van mijn 01x, en dat gaat allemaal prima.

hij is gemodelleerd naar de virus b Indigo hen ik gelezen ergens op de site of in een folder ervan.
dus NIET de c!

als er iemand binnenkort van plan is om zo'n virus powercore te kopen...........ik krijg hem binnen kort binnen (nieuw) en verkoop hem ook gelijk weer (heb hem gewonnen en heb geen powercore kaart) dus de hoogste bieder mag hem hebben.

als ik mij niet vergis had je de fx beschikbaar per part en niet global... maar pin me der niet op vast.
(zouden ze dit niet op de site moeten hebben beschreven? dit lijkt me iets dat zeker tussen de
features vermeld moet staan vind ik)

analog boost
phase
distortion
bitcrusher etc

fx per part
maar de delay en galm zijn idd global.. das een flinke tekortkoming vind ik (novation smijt maar raak met de fx, ook als is de kwaliteit wat minder)

Je kunt ook de virus C soundset gebruiken, alleen mis je dan dat moogfilter.
Maar ik heb hem eerlijk gezegd nog niet echt gemist..
