Ok, i've had a ton of inquiries about this modified 101 that I'm selling, and you guys wanted to hear what it sounds like, so I threw together some crude mp3s of some of the unit's mods in action.

The first file is a basic demonstration of the increased LFO range. A three-position toggle-switch allows you to select between "normal", "ultra-low" and "ultra-high" LFO ranges. As I recall, this was made by putting the modulator waveform on pulse, with the filter set to self-oscillate, fully modulated by the lfo, and then I just swept through the various LFO rates, ranges, and wave forms.

The next file is an good illustration of the frequency modulation rountings for the VCF. In this file, I'm running a basic U/D arpeggio with the cutoff frequency set at 0 and the resonance set at 0...the mixer is set with all sources at full. The ADSR is fairly tight, and the VCO range stays at 16'...
The most intersting part about this demo is that the filter cutoff NEVER MOVES from zero. All of the filtering changes are made by tweaking the added FM source and the FM amount knobs. now, for those of you who are confused, I can explain this mod a little further. With the rotary switch, you can select one of six possible modulation sources coming from the oscillator (Pulse, Ramp, -1OctSqr, -2OctSqr, -2OctPulse, Noise).. These signals then modulate the filter cutoff frequency at the same pitch as the played note.
This adds a very densely textured filtering effect, dramatically thickening and enriching the sound. And the frequency cutoff fader is never touched...

The next file is sort of a random assortment of similar VCF-FM effects, varied Env2 settings, pulse width modulation routings, different VCO ranges, and some self-oscillation from the VCF (which is then subjected to modulation from the above-mentioned mod)... It starts out with a bassy self-oscillation from the VCF, and actually, the whole file is made without ANY audio signal coming from the VCO itself.. it's ALL purely VCF self-oscillation being modulated by the VCO. And I used the overdrive mod in a few places.

Anyway, these only represent a small portion of what this thing can do... the audi-input is extremely nice, too. Imagine running ANY signal through this thing's filter, gating the signal it with an external sequencer, and then adding all the complexity of that VCF frequency modulation mod... yikes.
