Emagic GmbH is proud to announce the release of the very first version of Logic Platinum 5 for Mac OS X. This is accompanied by the simultaneous release of Mac OS X hardware drivers for Emagic's range of USB MIDI and audio interfaces.
Registered Logic Platinum 5 users can download the free Mac OS X version.
Dear Logic Users,
This is the very first version of Logic Platinum for OS X. It is the first time you are able to use a single software package combining digital audio recording and editing, digital signal processing, software instruments, MIDI sequencing and music notation, on a next generation operating system.
OS X also contains the foundation for a new generation of potent music and audio applications. Many technologies necessary for such applications are already built-in, such as the "Core Midi", "Core Audio", "Audio Units" standards, as well as support for high-resolution audio including 32 Bit floating-point data. To find out more, click here.
As a result, applications, 3rd party plug-ins and dedicated hardware can be simply and freely combined between different manufacturers to work together in a standardized way. From the very beginning, the new driver concepts for MIDI, Audio, DSP and software instruments have been optimized for performance, superior timing and low latency. You can play software instruments in real-time with an ultra-low latency that can rival or even outperform specialized hardware. These are only a few of the advantages to using music and audio applications under Mac OS X that confirm we are just at the beginning of a new development phase.
We are certain you will enjoy our first step into this exciting new world!
