Anonieme Analogist
Oh, en om mezelf even te bezondigen aan off-topic;
The ExpressionMate is a powerful MIDI processor that can be added on to any MIDI device. It comes as two parts: the desk top control box, and the 600 mm ribbon controller, similar to the ribbon controller on the K2500. Hook it up to a MIDI synth and you will find you have a whole new level of expression and control over your instrument.
In addition to the ribbon, the ExpressionMate has two pedal inputs, a breath controller input, and two button switch controllers. All of these physical controllers can be assigned to send any MIDI message you want, include, all MIDI controller messages, note messages, and even sysex.
For older MIDI synths that don't have very many physical controllers, the ExpressionMate will give you many possibilities for controlling your sound. Use the ribbon to open and close filters, crossfade between two sounds, change panning and volume - the possibilities are as endless as your synths ability to respond to MIDI control. And since you can assign notes to the ribbon ( as well as all other controllers), you can use the ribbon to actually play your synth. Just tap on various spots on the ribbon to play different notes! And with 16 preset and 8 user created scales available, you have complete control over exactly which notes you will use the ribbon to play.
Incredible Arpeggiaton Capabilities
The ExpressionMate contains three arpeggiators, each of which can run independently. Just play a chord on your keyboard and the arpeggiator will play those notes as an arpeggio. Each arpeggiator can use a different source of note events, so if you keyboard controller can send on more than one MIDI channel, you can play different chords simultaneously with each zone on your keyboard being arpeggiated differently. In addition, you can create specified note lists to be used by the arpeggiator so you don't even have to play your keyboard. Finally, each arpeggiator can be used as a source for the next arpeggiator, allowing you to create cascading arpeggios of incredible complexity.
In addition to playing arpeggiated notes in a constant stream of notes, you can choose among 8 preset or 64 user created rhythms. And a wide variety of note order and latching modes give you virtually endless possibilities.
