Ben alles maar naast elkaar aan het zetten:
- Filter zijn exact hetzelfde
- Outputs zijn hetzelfde
- Effecten zijn wel verschillend, (The Lead A1's effects section features two stunning brand new analog models of an Ensemble and Chorus)

A1: Arpeggiator
The Lead A1 features four separate Arpeggiators with Up/Down and Random modes and a 4-octave range. Any or all can be sync'd to the Lead A1's master clock.

L4:The Nord Lead 4 includes a classic Arpeggiator with Up/Down and Random modes and a 4-octave range. The Arpeggiator can be synced to the LFO and Delay using the Master Clock. A new Poly mode pulses all the notes you’re holding as a chord instead of cycling through the individual notes, great for choppy chord stabs when combined with the new Patterns and Impulse Morph buttons. Having four slots means you can have 4 Arpeggios running at the same time!

A1: The Lead A1 features four independent audio outputs with the ability to route each slot to a different output. Plus control of Pan via the front panel knob is a welcome new addition in the Lead A1.

A1: The Lead A1's new Oscillator section generates 47 different waveforms from classic analog to digital harmonic and inharmonic waves, whilst unique Oscillator Configuration Shortcuts make programming more immediate than ever. Start with a single Oscillator waveform select an Oscillator Configuration Shortcut - Pitch, Detune, Shape, Sync, Sub Mix, FM, AM or Noise - and use the Adjust knob to adjust the settings of the configuration. The end result is high speed programming without the need for the usual complexity of routing and patching, and with the opportunity for ready experimentation. A fast track to stunning sound design for both advanced and less experienced programmers.


L4: The Nord Lead 4 is a subtractive synthesizer with 2 oscillators per voice. All the classic waveforms are present, Saw, Square, Sine, Triangle, Pulse and PWM

Zoals ik het nu lees zit er verschil in de effecten maar is een stuk goedkoper.

Ik zal ongetwijfeld nog wel een en ander over het hoofd zien.....

De Snow heeft minder mogelijkheden dan een Ti2.

Ah op de fiets! Wat ik altijd belangrijk vind is de (bron)sound. En als je er moet komen met een paar omwegen, dan vind ik dat niet erg. Vraag me alleen af of deze krachtiger is dan de Rack 3

hij kan inderdaad veel minder dan een nl4, maar goed, hij is dan ook stukken goedkoper natuurlijk. Dit is meer een entry level synth (zeggen ze zelf overigens in de demo filmpjes van de A1). Hij is gebaseerd op de nl4 engine, maar heeft inderdaad andere effecten en hij kan zelfs de reverb en delay tegelijkertijd gebruiken (dat kan de nl4 niet), de filters komen overeen met die van de nl4 (die zijn echt top).

Verder is de arpeggiator uitgekleed, heeft die minder routing mogelijkheden en is de sound creation gebaseerd op voorgedefinieerde configuraties. Dat is eigenlijk het grootste minpunt, want een configuratie op de a1 bepaald welke functionaliteit je hebt. Simpel voorbeeld: stel je wilt de de shape van osc 1 aanpassen dan ben je osc 2 kwijt want dat zit niet in de configuratie (je kunt maar 1 actieve configuratie kiezen) en heb je ineens een 1 osc synth. Dat is eigenlijk het belangrijkste punt wat anders is. Ze willen het overigens zelf geen uitgeklede versie van de nl4 noemen, nord vindt het een ander type synth die zich meer richt op de muzikant die even snel een sound in elkaar wilt sleutelen zonder te veel de diepte in te gaan. Overigens vind ik dat rack nog steeds veel te duur, 1050 pond voor een a1 rack is behoorlijk pittig gezien de concurrenten.

Hij is i.d.d wel stevig geprijsd, maar ik vind ze wel altijd oerdegelijk gebouwd. Daarnaast worden ze volgens mij ook in Zweden gemaakt en niet in China. Daar betaal je denk ik ook voor.
