Also, there is 1 GB storage in the thing, and one of the usages for that is definitely storing samples, which I haven't been able to implement yet (I have some rudimentary SDS uploading functionality). The idea is on the one hand of course to upload loops to the MD, but the other is also to kind of have a "on the fly" library of loops while you are jamming live, so that you can kind of manage different snapshots of the currently playing pattern in realtime. And what ever will come to mind as well
The development environment for the MC is ready, I need to polish up the release info and webpage, which will hopefully happen today as well. Also I spent a few days last week "regenerating" by implementing a crazy amount of functionality: writing/reading from the SD-Card, and parsing all the messages from the MachienDrum. This doesn't sound like much, but it actually means that I can read out song info, pattern info, samples from the MachineDrum, and write them back. So things like "this is a cool sound, I want to snapshot it before it gets lost" are handled by the MC, as well as having a huge library of patterns, songs, samples ready to be uploaded while playing live (yes! this works really well, thx to Elektron). You can also do magic things like edit a song, and turn it back into a standalone pattern. Or merge a new pattern into the currently playing pattern.
