E-MU Announces PCI Express versions of 1616M, 1212M and 0404 Digital Audio Systems

"SCOTTS VALLEY, CA - January 14, 2009 - E-MU® Systems has announced the release of three new models of their celebrated Digital Audio Systems for the PC. The 1616M PCIe, 1212M PCIe, and 0404 PCIe are PCI Express versions of the company's Digital Audio Systems that feature a new high speed PCI Express 1 lane interface running at 400 Megabytes per second, which can transfer data four times faster than standard PCI in both directions simultaneously.
By using a compact 1 lane PCI Express interface, the new Digital Audio System PCIe cards have the high speed necessary for multi-channel audio transfer, compatibility with new high speed Windows PC motherboards, while allowing full compatibility with 1, 4, 8 and 16 lane PCI Express slots.
The Digital Audio System software and drivers are compatible with Windows Vista, Windows Vista x64, Windows XP and XP x64. The hardware is PCIe base specification 1.1 compliant and has been extensively tested to ensure mutual compatibility and interoperability with a wide variety of motherboards.
The PCIe Digital Audio Systems will ship in Spring of 2009. Prices to be announced.

The 1616M PCIe system offers a total of 16 inputs and 16 outputs plus 32 channels of MIDI I/O, including two E-MU XTC Class-A ultra-low noise mic/line/hi-Z preamps with 48V phantom power and analog soft limiting circuit for clip protection.
The 1212M PCIe system offers 12 inputs and 12 outputs plus 16 channels of MIDI I/O.
The 0404 PCIe system offers 4 inputs and 4 outputs plus 16 channels of MIDI I/O.
A new Vista-compatible version of E-MU's powerful Production Tools Software Bundle is also included, providing musicians with a host of powerful Mac and PC audio and MIDI applications - everything needed to create, record and edit music.
