::: Free Arts Lab :::
You wouldn’t do justice to describe the music from the Haarlem / Rotterdam collective Free Arts Lab (2014) as ‘Krautrock’. The band around Remy Stroomer (synthesizers), Petter Janse (guitar) and Jeroen Hagen (drums) has been inspired by German bands and artists from the electronic music scene, where names like Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze loom inevitably. However, the gentlemen clearly listened beyond their hearing, which clearly results into the presence of elements of (symphonic) rock, jazz, pop and dance into their music. Because of these wide musical interests and backgrounds, there is being established a blend which hardly lets categorize itself. And Stroomer, Janse and Hagen are fine with that. That’s why Free Arts Lab challenges the experiment, just like was the case in the eponymus Berlin club after which the band called themselves.
During live performances experimental elements can be heard, and during the 75-minutes instrumental set, there is a very large part dedicated to improvisation. The Haarlem video artist Sietse Bruggeling designed collage-like and filmish visuals, exclusively for this live show. Come and listen to, let yourself override, catch, carry away, awaken, and fire by the music and visuals of Free Arts Lab!
During this event, the Free Arts Lab debut EP is being presented. Besides variations on the material of this release, there will also be performed parts of the 75-minute set.

::: C-Jay :::
C-Jay is a well known artist in the progressive house and deep house scene, hailing from the Netherlands.
