Aangeboden een set van 12 Focusrite Isa-116 remote pre-amps die recent zijn ge-serviced door Jeroen Baars voor een bedrag van 500 euro. De ISA-116 is identiek aan de preamp van de originele vintage ISA-110 en is absoluut niet vergelijkbaar met de huidige Focusrite preamps.
De set bestaat uit 12 pre-amps, een voeding en een afstandsbediening met lange kabel. Je kunt de set in de opnameruimte plaatsen en vanuit de control-room bedienen met de afstandsbediening. Hiermee kun je de phantom-power aan- en uitschakelen en je kunt het volume per kanaal instellen. Het voordeel hiervan is met name minder ruis omdat het signaal op lijn niveau van de opname-ruimte naar de controle ruimte gaat.
Ik heb ze in verschillende opnames kunnen vergelijken met de class A en class A/B Neve's en ze hebben duidelijk de signatuur van de Neve's. Ze zijn alleen iets minder gekleurd, transparanter.
De set komt uit de Focusrite Forte die tot een aantal jaren geleden in de Electric Lady Studios NYC heeft gestaan. Er zijn maar 2 Focusrite Forte mixers gebouwd, dus er zullen niet veel van dit soort sets bestaan.

Russell Elevado [D'Angelo]: Voodoo: I tracked 90% of the drums (as well as the rest of the band) on a Focusrite console which was custom built for Electric Lady Studios. And i also had some Neve 1081's i ran through as well. There were only 3 or 4 of those consoles ever built. Ik bied de set aan voor 4500 euro exclusief BTW [komt dus met factuur]. Dat komt neer op 375 euro per pre-amp. Ik heb er indertijd redelijk veel meer voor betaald.
