The programmable parameters are under CC control. You can play the keyboard and move the sliders - everything is sent as MIDI data which can be recorded and played back.
The extra parameters can be controlled on the so-called second page. When you press the VERIFY button on/off you actually select if the sliders and switches refer to the original or the extended parameters. For example, to set the rate of the extra LFO, press the VERIFY button (the light is on) and move the LFO Rate which now controls the extra LFO. The same goes for the extra ADSR which is dedicated for the filter. Other parameters like MIDI channel, soft thru, velocity assign are also hosted on the second page.
Patches can be dumped as SysEx and there is a controller snapshot feature which dumps the actual patch as a set of CC's. The extra parameters are also stored with the patches and can be controlled via CC's as well
Minerva is an internal retrofit. A special add-on socket gets soldered to one of the Juno's boards. The Minerva is plugged into this socket. When the board is plugged in, Minerva is in action and when no board is in the socket the original Roland CPU is working. The installation of the special socket involves precision soldering but otherwise the installation is easy and straightforward.
MIDI In and Out sockets are placed on a plate which is a direct replacement for the original DCB socket plate.DCB is used for internal communication between Minerva and the Juno keyboard CPU and as a result other DCB interface can not be used simultaneously.
From Covariance: All the useful features presented in the Io for Jupiter 4 will be implemented in Minerva. Everything included in the kit and I am writing a detailed installation guide with photos. I give premium customer support including online assistance, service tips and customization on demand. Minerva firmware can be upgraded via MIDI, feedbacks and suggestions are welcome.
