Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg met twee NL acts
Naast John Dear Mowing Club ook Voicst bevestigd voor Duits festival
Eind september vind je op 440 kilometer afstand vanaf Utrecht een festival dat nieuwe, opkomende bands, maar ook al wat bekendere acts presenteert in diverse locaties verspreid over de Duitse wereldstad Hamburg. In totaal zie je 150 internationale bands in 20 locaties, uiteenlopend van clubs, concertzalen en clubs in Duitslands 2e grootste stad; Hamburg. Eerder was al bekend dat de Haagse band John Dear Mowing Club op het festival staat. Nu is ook de Amsterdamse band Voicst bevestigd!
Nederlandse bands: John Dear Mowing Club + Voicst
Het Reeperbahn Festival presenteert een waslijst aan internationale acts. In totaal treden in 3 dagen tijd, ongeveer 150 acts op verspreid over de diverse locaties. Een van de Nederlandse acts die bevestigd is, is het Nederlandse John Dear Mowing Club. John Dear Mowing Club is ontstaan uit de band Smutfish rondom zanger, gitarist, tekstdichter en beeldend kunstenaar Melle de Boer. De muziek van Melle wordt vergeleken met Green On Red, Lambchop en Johnny Dowd. Melle omschrijft de muziek zelf als Country Noir. Als Smutfish stond de band o.a. al op Noorderslag (2005) en op Crossing Border.

Voicst is ook op het Reeperbahn Festival te zien! Voicst is intussen een band die groter is dan het trio waar het een paar jaar terug mee begon. Met het nieuwe album A Tale Of Two Devils scoorden ze inmiddels al de hit Everyday I Work On The Road. Na eerder al op Eurosonic/Noorderslag en Lowlands gespeeld te hebben, stond de band eerder dit jaar eindelijk op Pinkpop en gaf daar een show waar nog veel over werd gesproken. Deze zomer is Voicst o.a. op Sziget in Budapest te zien en op het Reeperbahn Festival!
