This is an Ampex FR1400 14 track audio recorder that was used to record voice and data transmission on the Apollo program. The machine was in use from the end of the gemini program through the Apollo Program and man landing on the moon .The machine is complete and when last tried operational. Although if you were going to put back in service it would need to be cleaned and gone through. It makes a very impressive display set up with your space collectables. It is not too often you get the chance to own an actual Apollo used item..
This machine is housed in 2 six ft racks and comes with the original operating manual and spare tape heads and a few reels of tape. Obviously this item is for the very serious collector who would have space to house such an item. I have to make room so it needs to find a new home. Local pickup would be preffered but we could arrange for freight to pick up
