FOEM is renown for their big remix contests, and yet again they managed to find an amazing artist willing to cooperate with them. This time the contest is done with Rotterdam producer Secret Cinema and THEM Records.
THEM Records will be a new label from Rotterdam/The Netherlands, run by Jeroen Verheij and Michel de Heij. The focus is on styles like Techno, House, Electro, Minimal, but also Trance, Hardcore, Experimental and Massive. THEM`s slogan ‘Music By People For People!’ and FOEM`s claim ‘Free Music For Free People!’ fit together perfectly. This intersection is about exposing new ideas from the worldwide underground, sending them out into the world and to the top.
Every artist is invited to remix the previously unreleased ‘Watergruv’ and as bonus ‘Meng`s Theme’, a classic track from 1993. This means you get two tracks to remix. Therefore you’re only allowed to upload two remixes per artist. You can win very nice software from Steinberg and Fruity Loops, plus vinyl packages and some vinyl record deals on THEM Records next to digital releases of the winners’ tracks. How many? This depends on the quality of your remixes. This contest runs from March 1st to May 31st, 2007. Three full months.
