Top sampler van Akai. Een van de weinig hardware samplers die op 24 bit/96kHz kan samplen. Deze Z8 ziet er uit als nieuw en werkt als nieuw. Inclusief een 40GB HD vol met samples, USB (zodat je vanaf je mac of pc het ding kunt editen met Akai's AkSys software), SCSI aansluiting. Het front is afneembaar zodat je het (met een bijgeleverde kabelt) op schoot kunt gebruiken om te samplen of te editen.
Deze heeft de maximale 512 MB sample RAM aan boord (Kingston).
