RX 5 hoe en waarom nog steeds te use,n

de RX 5

rx 5 wat ist waard ,...?
en ist nog wel bruik baar ,...?
en ist niet te omslachtig te proggen in zn eigen sequencer ,...en dat dan te syncen met midi van bv mn rm1x/regelwerk...

aangezien ik meer richting rm1x als master wil gaan werken ,.. d8 ik in de rx 5 wat leuke patterns te gaan maken ,...
maar T kost al bergen tyd ,...om de rm1x "onder t knietje " te krijgen ,..
ik gebruik d rx 5 nu met een drum mappie dus 64 sound te triggeren via midi

dat doet af aan t geheel want t is een drumcomputer die qa mogelkijk heden bv veel ander achter zich laat ,...
dus de seq...human feel en parameters niet tot zn recht en schuifjes ook niet ala tr 707
kortom er zit een soort van r8mk2 sequencer in met goed quantizing opties ,..rev button en de bekende tr707 727 schuifjes voor de 12 outs

ik vindt t een onontdekt machientje beetje dated sound maar alles is goed te editten bv de decay van bassdrum en octaven omlaag pitchen velocity instelbaar per sounds ,..p sounds


soo wat is waard en werkter nog wel iemand met een rx5 op deze manier [waar die eigenlijk voor is ]
of bv met een r8 mk 2 roland ... gebruikt iedereen m gewoon as ordienere drum player via midi >>????

The Yamaha RX-5 is one of the best 12 bit drum machines ever made. The samples are really clean and punchy. Additional sounds can be added by purchasing PCM cards.

The 12v DC power supply is not included.

The voices can be edited in more ways than what is usually associated with a drum machine - not only can you alter the pitch, level and panning of the voices, but also the ADSR envelope, the auto-bend amount and the loop points, thus giving you access to a virtually unlimited palette of high quality percussion sounds

The Yamaha RX-5 is a mid-80's drum machine that is pretty much useless!! It does have a couple good drum sounds, and that's why I haven't tossed it in the trash. It's amazing that it originally sold for around $1200. I bought this one for $300 in the mid-late 80's. Is it just me, or were all the drum machines in the 80's just aweful (except the analog machines that weren't going for a real drum sound).

t heeft gewoon geen nut om te salen ,.voor bv 50a70 eu ask m soms nog gebruik,...
vindt sommige dingen kunje aan de straatstenen niet kwijt [denk k1]

terwijl t degelijke machientjes zijn [ditis een eg greta prograaming drummachientje ...ik denk dat ie bv een tr 707 t nakijken geeft ..die heeft qa sound by sommige de voorkeur nou vondt er nooit wat aan ,..egniet = static ashell

Inside, the RX5 is very well built. The CPU is a Hitachi HD63B09. There are four cusom VLSIs- a YM3802, 2x YM3907, and a YM3908. Presumably the 3907 and 3908 generate the sound. There are also 12 Y3014B serial DACs, one for each channel. This shows that the RX5 uses the older method of using multiple DACs with variable sample rates to generate different pitches, rather than a single DAC running at a fixed rate with DSP-based resampling and interpolation to change pitches. The result of this is that there is no aliasing when samples are transposed up, and that they sound grainer when transposed down because there's no interpolation to smooth out the waveform. This is part of why I think the RX5 sounds so nice.

Overall the RX5 is a very good drum machine with a nice punchy sound. I think it is useful mostly for artificial electronic sounds because there are much better drum machines for acoustic sounds.

The sequencer offers the typical real time and step writing modes. Sequences can have any length or time signature. Quantize and metronome can be set from 1/2 notes to 1/64th note triplets. Swing can only be used when quantize is set to 1/8th or 1/16th notes and has 5 selectable values. Pretty standard stuff, but there are also "damp" and "reverse" buttons. The "damp" button puts a sound into its release phase. And it gets really interesting in the edit pattern mode, where the pitch, amplitude, attack, and decay of each sound can be edited for each step. Editing in this mode is not fun or easy but it is extremely versitile. In song mode there can be neat things like nested loops and tempo changes. Songs can even be chained, though I've never used this feature.
