Here's a great breakcore tip for some incredibly speeding tracker programming...(i use renoise too)
- Get your amen break in a sample slot, as you do;
- Go into the wave editor and make sure it loops tightly (might have to shave a little off the end?);
- Go into your sequencer, turn record mode on (I set mine to toggle with Space Bar)
- Hold down Z on an empty track
e-400
e-400
e-400
etc...
- Then program your break with sample offsets (hold down 9 in the relevant column first)
e-400 0900
e-400 0900
e-400 0900
e-400 0900
...
Then
e-400 0900
e-400 0904
e-400 090a
e-400 090f
...
All the numbers from 0-9 and Hex a-f represent different beats in the break... So you type in 0123456789abcdef and that's the break in order, and you type in 02020bdfeca0234 and that's some venetian snares s**t right there///
You can add rolls and reverse samples, add panning, just click on the <> arrows above the 0000's and you can add more programming parameters...
If you tried to do this in Cubase or FLoops, you'd have RSI, carpel tunnel syndrome and arthritis before you'd finished your first album...
