Wie staat er ook op de Cirklon Sequencer wachtlijst? En hoe lang al?

Ik gebruik nu de push icm met ableton om alles te sequencen. Kan me niet voorstellen dat het met de Cirklon makkelijker wordt (behalve natuurlijk dat Ableton niet meer aan hoeft). Misschien wel leuker :)
 
ik moet zeggen dat ik veel pret heb als ik met maschine sequence (en verder niks gebruik uit de soft qua geluiden) maar had al voor dat mijn ob6 besluit noten kort (of niet) te spelen die maschine uitspuwt dus dat is een issue (die zowel DS als NI me niet uitgelegd kreeg)
 
@kobuz ja ik doe dat nu ook, maar qua gerichte workflow moet het toch te regelen zijn om dezelfde functionaliteit als de Cirklon te maken ? Zonder dus op het scherm te kijken , al doe ik dat nu ook al niet heel veel met de push. Het is met name de manier van sequencen met de Cirklon wat het grote voordeel is. Hands on is niet echt een issue meer tegenwoordig. Zat goede knoppenbakken beschikbaar.

Ik moet eerlijk zeggen dat wanneer ik er filmpjes van kijk me afvraag of het nu echt zo makkelijk allemaal is. Als je dit ding continue gebruikt kan ik het me wel voorstellen, maar voor de hobbyist die er niet elke dag achter zit (zoals ik), ben ik bang dat het elke keer weer nadenken is van hoe zat het ook alweer. Maargoed, toch houdt het een grote aantrekkingskracht voor mijn gearjunk deel ;).

Nou het is wel veel geld met de CVIO en bob erbij zit je rond de 2200 incl verzenden. Dat is best een hoge prijs voor een sequencer :bekdicht:
Ik heb me rond de synthforum cirklon meeting (ergens in 2015?) ingeschreven en had in 2017 al een email gekregen, maar die blijkbaar in de spam box verdwenen..
Nu dus opnieuw de mogelijkheid om er 1 te kopen. Volgens mij was de standaard versie in 2015 nog 999,- maar dat was natuulk wel de v1.

Het is idd wel zo dat ik 'm gewoon kan kopen en uitproberen en als het niks is binnen 2 dagen voor dezelfde prijs weer kan verkopen ;)

Wat bedoel je met Bob ? die printer aansluiting.

Sta al heel lang op die wachtlijst. Mocht je hem vrij direct weer weg doen dan zou ik het wel op prijs stellen als je een pb stuurt ;-) Kan er anders extra toy opgooien
 
De BOB, is de break out box. Het is een mooi verdienmodel, je betaald extra voor de CVIO kaart in de cirklon, maar dan heb je nog niet de CV/gate aansluitingen, alleen maar de interne kaart en com poort aansluiting. Vervolgens moet je de BOB erbij kopen in desktop of rack formaat om de aansluitingen te kunnen gebruiken.

Als ik mezelf heb overtuigd om 'm te kopen dan denk ik niet dat ik 'm snel weer weg doe, maar ik zal het onthouden ;)
 
Idd beetje vaag een extra kaart plus weer een extra kastje. Zie dan de pb tegemoet

Ja het is vooral veel muscle memory opbouwen. Maar dat is met veel spullen zo. Uiteindelijk valt het kwartje en werkt het, of niet natuurlijk. Maar deze werkt voor veel mensen op veel manieren heel goed blijkbaar. En als het niet dit prijskaartje had, had ik er allang een paar maanden een geprobeerd. In die tijd kom je best wel ver als je er regelmatig wat tijd in stopt. Ik merk dat als ik een ritme aanhoudt , dat het dan prima gaat qua onthouden hoe dingen werken. Laat ik het liggen dan gaat het mis.

Unfortunately we've not made much progress on working through the waiting list over the past few weeks and are still at 15th September 2017, as we've been out-of-stock of CVIO boards.

However we had good news this morning from our supplier that they're ready to ship to us, so I hope to be able to email the next batch of people on the waiting list at the end of April.

This will include all the UK customers on the list from July, August and September 2017 that I had to skip past while we figured out the new post-brexit procedure, as we've now managed to successfully ship a couple of Cirklons to the UK this month

I've seen a lot of posts in this topic that try to extrapolate from either very little, or inaccurate information about what future levels of production or waiting times might be. Nobody outside Sequentix GmbH has any idea what's going on here, so I'll give you an update with some actual detail.
Uninformed speculation is not helping anyone, so in future I may be inclined to remove posts based on wild guesses

The Corona situation had a significant impact at the start of Cirklon 2 production, as our display modules were delayed by a couple of months, and the production and shipping of the first runs of PCBs were also delayed by several weeks.
That pushed the date we started shipping production units back from April/May last year into July.
The first phase of production was at a low rate, for a couple of reasons.
Any new design can have problems, so you don't go ordering hundreds of boards until you're sure it's correct.
There was a minor issue with the first run of mainboards, which was fortunately able to be re-worked here, but with considerable effort.
The second run went more smoothly, but was still slower than it needs to be, because we were doing some assembly in-house that doesn't scale.
One of the biggest PITAs with Cirklon production since the very start has been the number and type of tri-colour LEDs used on the UI board.
They are thru-hole parts, which need to have their legs pre-formed for insertion to the correct height and position for wave-soldering.
That process had been relatively well optimised when our production was in the UK, but Brexit screwed that up nicely.
For the first couple of runs of CK2, we've been doing the thru-hole assembly of the UI boards here.
I had been planning for a long time to move to a more efficient design, which I was able to finish in the last few months.
After the current stock of UI boards is used up, we'll be moving to a new UI board that uses surface-mount tri-colour LEDs with light-pipes.
It also integrates the drive circuitry onto the UI board, which further simplifies production and assembly.
From the end user point of view, there is only a slight difference in appearance (the light-pipes are flat-topped, rather than curved - see attachment) but it means production of the UI boards can be scaled up significantly, and we'll only be doing final assembly of finished boards into complete units in Berlin.

With those changes in place, our expectation was to increase production to a level that could potentially get us most of the way through the waiting list inside a year.
I was alerted to the situation with the impending Chipocalypse at the start of March, thanks to Dan at Intellijel.
ST Microelectronics parts seem to be particularly affected, and they are the source of both the Cirklon 2 CPU and the display backlight driver chip.
I placed panic orders with a number of suppliers then for sizeable quantities of those ICs.
We have since received all but one of those, and have been told the other is shipping today.
That means we have enough stock of those parts to produce way more units in the rest of this year than we have in total in any previous year.
However, there are still other parts that need to be sourced.
The lead times on those aren't looking to be a problem at the moment.
We'll know within a few more weeks if there are going to be issues in future.
We have considerable stocks of the display module for on-going production.
Lead time on future orders of displays have increased significantly, but it looks like we had enough advance warning to avoid a problem there.
The displays are manufactured in Taiwan, which has other problems than just Corona to contend with, so hopefully the situation there will improve soon.
If there turn out to be delays with any of the other parts needed for complete units, then we should be able to increase availability of upgrade kits.
I'll post an update here again when I have confirmation of lead times for orders on everything else, and therefore a clearer idea of whether we will be able to meet our increased production targets or not.
