Beter.

E-MU.Emulator.II.Sound.Banks.Collection.sf2.v1.0-SoniQ
DATE:2015.May.04
INFO
This release is the attempt of a sound bank collection as
complete as possible for the Emulator II in sf2 format. The
files were collected in original .eii-format and were then
converted into soundfonts by using the free tool emxp.
The included libraries are the most important factory and
commercial libraries for the EII, you could buy then:
EMU Systems Library (factory library)
OMI Universe of Sounds Vol. 1-3
FM Designs Vol. 1
K-Muse Library (by Richard Burmer)
The major part of this collection was sorted and it was taken
great care for completeness by some really nice guys on a forum,
where they gave it away for free. Other parts were taken from
the Emulator Archive.
You can play these sounds in Kontakt or any other sf2-player.
But be aware, that they will sound different on every player,
and that a lot of the mojo of the original sound comes from the
sound characteristics of an Emulator II Hardware machine.
We highly recommend Presence, the vsti sampler, that is coming
with Studio One, as it translates the filter, lfos and envelope
settings of the presets very satisfyingly. Add some distortion
(opamp or softtube), and effects for a wider stereo image.
Every sf2-file corresponds to a bankfile, that the EII used.
This means, that the presets you will find inside the sf2-file
are sharing the same samples, that were crafted for this very
bank.
Originally, these files were in .eii-format and came on Floppy
disks.
The OMI UoS libraries are still available commercially at:
http://www.quparts.com (OMI UoS Vol. 1 and 2)
http://www.northstarsamples.com (OMI UoS Vol. 3)
WHO.WE.ARE:
We are striving to preserve the cultural value of the early
products of the companies EMU and Ensoniq, as Creative Labs
does not seem to care anymore about those, they bought and left
to die.
We do see a lot of people on eBay, making money from badly
organized or even unprocessed sound collections, they stole
from some dedicated forum or page, taking advantage of other
people's goodwill and selfless effort.
Our goal is to collect and systemize sound & sample collections,
that otherwise might spread uncontrollably over the net in the
years to come or might be forgotten or get confused due to false
naming or multiple releases of the same on different mediums.
Also, we would like to try to convert as many sounds as possible
into different formats for coming generations to enjoy on future
machines.
We are not a team and we will not make profit out of this. We
cannot take requests of any kind.
Take what you get and be thankful for the hard work someone else
is doing for you!
We are doing this, because we feel the urgency to act and to
preserve the sounds of an era, when especially pop music seemed
to be more pluralistic and more full of art.
If you would like to support us in our quest, and you think, you
might have something for us, bought or collected, get creative
to get in contact with us. ;p
to all the TEAMS and INDs for empowering us every day anew!
