We are very proud to reveal the forthcoming Overbridge implementation for Analog Four, Analog Keys, and Analog Rytm. This breakthrough technology completely erases the line between analog hardware and software plug-in instruments. For the first time in history, seamless DAW integration of analog synthesizers and drum machines is a reality.

Full VST/AU control

Thanks to Overbridge, the Analog range of Elektron machines can be deeply integrated with PC and Mac computers. The customized and machine specific software plugins, available in VST and AU formats, give direct parameter access over USB and allows efficient DAW based sound editing and sequencing. Overbridge merges the functionality of software plug-ins with the unmatched sound of analog hardware.

Bi-directional USB audio streaming

Overbridge makes multi tracking easy. Connect a USB cable and record multiple Elektron machine voices to separate DAW tracks in 24 bit quality. Or send audio from a DAW, process it with the analog circuitry of the Elektron machines and bring back the results to a new DAW track – all over a single USB cable and without timing issues. Overbridge even allows the Analog range of machines to be used as multi-channel USB sound cards.

Total Recall

Management of analog sounds and sequences has never been easier. Any adjustments made either directly on the Elektron hardware or via the software plug-in can be automatically recalled when loading a DAW project. Overbridge offers ultimate convenience when handling Elektron machine data.

Overbridge will be a part of a free OS update expected to be released Q4 2014. The OS update will work on all Analog Four, Analog Keys, and Analog Rytm units in existence.

Ik vind de editor er erg goed uitzien.
Ik zou het bijna betreuren dat ik de computer heb verbannen uit m'n studio.

In vind het overbridge principe ook wel erg mooi.
Ik hoop dat ze die latency problemen goed kunnen oplossen.

Misschien dat ik er oven een tijdje eens een ga proberen, maar dan moet het overbridge verhaal wel 100% werken op een normale manier. Ik zou in dat geval afhankelijk zijn namelijk van de audio over usb (aangezien mijn convertors volzitten ) Maar zo te zien zijn ze goed op weg.

Ik kan nu ineens niet meer multitracken met Overbridge.
Van zodra ik in het "Elektron Overbridge Control Panel" een track wil toevoegen, bijvoorbeeld de bass drum, en ik druk op apply krijg ik een venstertje met de melding:

Could not apply configuration. Your channel configuration could not be applied on this system. The required USB bandwidth could not be allocated. Try to reduce the number of channels, or unplug other USB devices from the hub into which your Overbridge device is plugged. If you have multiple Overbridge devices, you should consider using a MTT-enabled USB Hub

Blijkbaar vraagt Overbridge te veel USB-bandbreedte. Het bizarre is dat het vroeger werkte TOT ik de CYM/CB-voice wou activeren in OB, en dat niet lukte. OB en de plug-in in Ableton werken nog dus met de connectie is er niets aan de hand. Enkel multitracken lukt niet meer van zodra ik tracks toevoeg en op "apply" druk. Ook al ga ik niet in het rood met de USB-bandwidth in het OB Control Panel.

Ik heb Windows 7 (64bit), alle updates, de laatste OS voor m'n Rytm, etc.
Ik heb voor de rest geen andere Elektron-devices aangesloten aan m'n systeem.

Alle tips welkom.

(In het verleden heb ik al problemen gehad met m'n USB-controller van m'n pc. PC wou geen enkel USB-apparaat meer herkennen. Heb toen een hele windows reinstall moeten uitvoeren om het probleem te verhelpen)

Ik zit in de ruimte van een vriend en heb net Overbridge op m'n iMac geïnstalleerd. Ik wil even kijken hoe ik zijn Analog Keys stand alone met Overbridge kan editten. Ik heb geen DAW, en wil alleen de Overbridge editor gebruiken.

Het Overbridge Control Panel staat op m'n scherm, en ik zie ook de daarop correct aangesloten Analog Keys. Maar hoe kom ik in die editor terecht?

Is het misschien toch echt nodig om ook minimaal Ableton Lite te installeren om die editor te kunnen gebruiken?

Ja, editor is enkel vst, niet standalone. er zijn wel simpele hosts geloof ik, zodat je alleen een soort vst-rack hebt.

Uiteindelijk heb ik nu pas de gelegenheid om het eens uit te proberen, maar dat Client gebeuren bestaat dan blijkbaar helemaal niet.

Ik heb onderstaande Mac Pro uit 2010 dus en mijn AR connect niet met Overbridge. Zou dat aan mijn te oude Mac kunnen liggen of de USB poorten ervan> Zo ja, wat zouden jullie adviseren om dit op te lossen anders dan een nieuwere mac te kopen

Intel Xeon/Core2Duo processors are not currently supported by the Overbridge drivers. It is not expected that Overbridge works as intended when running on computers equipped with Xeon/Core2Duo.

Change:
A new plugin is available, Analog Heat. This allows the Elektron Analog Heat product
(Stereo Analog Sound Processor) to be used from within your DAW. In contrast to the Analog
Rytm/Four/Keys plugins, which are synthesizer plugins, the Analog Heat is an insert effect plugin.
This means you can use it as an insert effect on your existing (stereo) audio tracks.
Change:
There is now a light color theme available, improving usability in bright environments. A
new global option sets the theme for all Overbridge software and Plugins.
Change:
Overbridge now requires a system supporting OpenGL graphics (OpenGL 3.2). This
allows the plugins to render their GUIs in the GPU, freeing up more CPU power for audio tasks.
Should you experience problems with corrupted graphics and/or performance on Windows
systems, it is highly likely that you need to update your graphics drivers.

macOS 10.7 is no longer supported. Minimum requirement is now macOS 10.8.

CPU performance of the Overbridge engine has been improved in all Plugins, now using
considerably less CPU in the realtime audio threads.

Overbridge engine, yielding better sequencer sync and audio alignment in almost all use-cases.

Improved support for Logic Pro X host (version 10.2.4 or higher recommended). Don't

Overbridge Control Panel
Change:
There is a new page available; Overbridge Products Overview. Here, you can see a very
short overview of all Overbridge-enabled products from Elektron.
Change:
When changing name of your Overbridge Devices, the new name is now applied
immediately. Changing channel configuration still requires you to press Apply / Discard.
Change:
On Windows, all operations that require administrative privileges now ask for this in a
separate child process, improving the experience when deleting devices and/or changing system
audio devices.
Bug Fix:
Administrative privileges were not always obtained when needed, even if user gave
permission successfully.
Audio Drivers
Change:
macOS Sierra (10.12.x) is now a supported computer Operating System.
Change:
The Windows driver has a new performance mode, "highest speed", which reduces
latency further compared to the "highspeed" mode. You can change this mode in the Overbridge
Control Panel.
Bug Fix:
Various stability and performance improvements have been done both on macOS and on
Windows.
