Knalpot - Serious Outtakes — Press-release September 2009
Two years after their foundation, Knalpot releases their official debut record ‘Serious Outtakes’.
The French/German/Austrian duo from Amsterdam collaborates with the Dutch cross-over electronics label Eat Concrete to release the best Knalpot material so far. The result is a six-headed beast of a record, obliterating the boundaries between electro, punk, rock and jazz.
Knalpot is Gerri Jäger on drums en Raphael Vanoli on guitar and keyboard, both use an arsenal of effect-boxes when live. With clever compositions and a highly explosive set-up, Knalpot skilfully demonstrates their radical kind of music. The past two years they have been touring extensively in and outside of the Netherlands, playing a wide variety of crowds. They started out in the local Amsterdam scene but are quickly becoming one of the most interesting acts out there, Knalpot means business, that much is clear.
Eat Concrete is one of the most progressive and original electronic recordlabels to come from the Netherlands. 'Serious Outtakes' is another bold addition to the label’s repertoire. Knalpot’s debut comes out shortly after Aardvarck’s much anticipated second solo album called ‘Titi’. Finally, Eat Concrete will release ‘Dubstoned Vol.3′ by acclaimed producers duo Funckarma. After a series of successful international releases, the collaboration with Dutch acts is a natural step for the label hailing from Den Bosch.
‘Serious Outtakes’ will be officially released October 8th.
