Naast de PC3K bracht Kurzweil ook een nieuwe lichtgewicht stage-piano SP76II met 128 sounds uit de PC3 op de Namm uit. De opvallende modulatie strips aan de zijkant zijn vervangen voor modulatie wielen bovenop het chassis. Klein, licht, handzaam, oerdegelijk en met goede sounds waren sterke punten in de eerste sp76. Zo te zien voldoet deze mark II daar ook allemaal aan.

Een quantizer rond 'glijdende schaal' voltages af naar vaste voltages, meestal gebruikt in combinatie met een analoge sequencer om op halve noten terecht te komen die naar oscilators gaan. Maar hij kan natuurlijk vele leuke toepassingen hebben, waardoor allerlei maffe sequences ontstaan die in de gekozen key vallen.
Er zijn 3 paralelle quantizers beschikbaar. Roger heeft akkoordenkeuze standaard toegevoegd, waarbij je deze kunt laten gelden voor geen van de quantizers, voor alleen de eerste of voor alle 3.

Alweer enige maanden uit, werd ik onlangs op de nieuwe versie van dit pakket gewezen. Kende Sampltude nauwelijks, maar ziet er toch wel goed uit. En schijnt niet onder te doen voor paketten als Cubase, Live en Logic.

Vandaag is Max for Live (Ableton Live 8.1 vereist) gereleased door Ableton en Cycling '74. Het ziet er erg interessant uit, een combinatie van een visuele ontwikkelomgeving toegespitst op Live, waarmee je je eigen instrumenten, effecten en plugins kunt maken/programmeren, ondersteuning en aansturing van diverse hardware en de mogelijkheid om diverse API's, informatiestromen en hardware aan elkaar te knopen op conventionele en (nog interessanter) onconventionele manieren!
Voor de nerds onder ons interessant om onze eigen dingen te bouwen, maar ook zeker interessant voor de minder technisch onderlegde gebruiker vanwege de enorme hoeveelheid toepassingen die ongetwijfeld beschikbaar zullen komen in de community.
