hier de link van de DIY triple play interface, waar ik het mee heb kunnen doen,
(al heb ik wel een printje gekregen van alfred... :)

en hier de uitleg van alfred, al is het wel een beetje persoonlijk !! :) :)

To the real TriplePlay Plus by Blue Ribbon.

Near 10 years ago I found the circuitry of the original TriplePlay Plus
at the Internet. Ryan Osman have had made also a PCB. I tryed to build
such a TriplePlay-MIDI-Interface.
And I was successful .... BUT ... this project ended at that time
with the dead of my expensive DB50-XG. YAMAHA was very accommodating,
and exchanged the damaged with a new one, because only the MIDI-input IC
was destroyed.
I searched for the reason, and found it.
The TriplePlay Plus doesn't convert the "high-voltage" of the serial
port (+/-12V) into the TTL/MIDI-voltage (0V/+5V).
If the MIDI-Input is a normal standard MIDI-Input (like you find it at
ALL instruments/MIDI-Interfaces with a MIDI-IN) this isn't a problem.
But my DB-50XG has "only" a TTL compatible input. So the 12V killed it.
Arrrg ....

By this reason I made my own TriplePlay3, which was sold as "TriValdi"
by AHT Europe (I build ca. 20 of these MIDI-Interfaces). Unfortunately
this is not longer possible because of some new laws here in Europa. But
I have the project at my site still available.
My TPP has a IC (MAX238) which converts the serial-line signals into
TTL-signal and vice versa. This is a high speed IC, which has only a
delay of 250 µseconds (a quarter of a millisecond).
