FRIDAY APRIL 4:
Les Petites Différences Marginales --- Festival Souterrain de FRANCE:
- KAP BAMBINO
- GANGPOL UND MIT
- DJ COULEURS (aka DJ GILOU)
WORM – Achterhaven 148, Rotterdam
damage: 8 euro
Solid, brutal French underground electro and much more. In the last few years France has been forcefully knocking at the gates with a steady flow of headstrong popmusic. Somewhere starting from the tradition of Jean-Jacques Perrey via Les Rita Mitsouko towards Dat Politics, but also reaching far beyond, new worlds of sound are crafted together with a pleasantly large presence of ADD and different forms of (super)natural energy which grab the attention.

Kap Bambino are the thrashing electro pop overlords and we're really not taking the piss this time. Caroline Martial and Orion Bouvier's highly dancable and infectious music comes at you like an auditory sugar rush. They solidified their popularity through word of mouth, on basis of their energetic Live performances and their extremely catchy songs that have been put out on their homegrown Wwilko label (also Candie Hank, Gangpol Und Mit).

GANGPOL UND MIT
(wwilko / out one disc)
From quiet shifting melodies, galactical landscapes, pathological lyricism and voice synthesis to highspeed digital toy music, impeccable arrangements on cheapo keyboards and lo-fi dancefloor attempts, this duo from Bordeaux masterfully blends everything into the definitive technicolour feast between sound and image. It'll leave you wondering just exactly when they'll be dominating the world. Simply awe-inspiring.

MEC is the acronym of Motards En Colere (roughly "The Angry Bikers"), a trio of digital hardcore musicians from Paris associated with the design/fashion collective Shoboshobo. MEC need motorcycle helmets for their unpredictable electro-punk performances. The trio hunch on the floor over analogue hardware with combinations of pedals for harsh headbanging sessions. The helmets are fitted internally with contact mics, adding a screamingly new dimension to the barrage of noise. The performances are short, energetic with rough beats and lyrics loaded with anti-car polemic. (culled from clubtransmediale.de)
