Why a Tape Echo?
If you ask that then you have never played a healthy Echoplex! No delay (rackmount or pedal, analog or digital) can replicate the natural, warm, and shimmery tones of an old Echoplex. Unless you've experienced it you don't know what you're missing.

Yeah, but they're noisy and unreliable!
Yes, they certainly WERE....but the Fulltone TubeTapeEcho (TTE) is dead-quiet, and Fulltone has completely re-vamped both the electronics, the tape transport path, and even the tape cartridge itself to the point of near-overkill. Fulltone's TTE produces less noise than most delay pedals.

How much delay time?
From a quick slapback to over 2 seconds. There is a top panel-mounted dual speed toggle switch to choose between: Hi-Speed and Lo-Speed operation. Hi-Speed gets you lots of Highs, less Bass, and a True Repeat without the Pitch variation of the old Echoplex. Lo-Speed is waaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrm, lots of Bass, less highs, and a slight "warble" that imparts a natural chorus effect made popular by people like Eric Johnson.

Why tubes?
Because they sound so good.....the enhancement to your basic tone is something you will not want to play without once you feel it, and you'll never again have to worry about signal loss due to long cables and too many pedals on your pedalboard

The Roland RE-201 Space Echo is truly a Vintage (1973) piece of music technology with lots of appeal even today. It's not a synth, but a Tape-Echo machine for creating true analog echo effects. Ha ja, ik heb ook zo'n ding! Obscuur gevalletje, dat ik ooit heb weggekaapt bij mijn muziekschool voordat ie naar het grofvuil zou gaan... pffff... weer een vintage-ding gered van de sloop. Trouwens weing info over te vinden op internet. Bij een google-search krijg ik vooral mijn eigen posts op het forum te zien, vanwege mijn gear-list.

This auction is for an original 1960's melos echo chamber in its original box, with footswitch and with an ORIGINAL TAPE CASSETTE-not a repro.
This is a very rare find, especially so in this condition. The original tapes for these things are ridculously scarce and i'm sure it alone would fetch a hefty price(i've read somewhere that they fit the univox units aswell

Vintage 1970's Tape Loop Echo

This is the famous Roland RE-150 Space Echo - vintage tape loop echo like only the real thing can produce. This unit has been freshly cleaned, de-gaussed, and lubed, it operates perfectly as it should, and it sounds like only these tape echos can. The cosmestic condition is very good, a few little marks in the tolex and such but overall relatively clean, the faceplate in particular is very clean on this one - this unit has not been abused or neglected, hasn't been caked with dust or thrown around. It is complete and fully functioning, the VU and light works, all knobs are intact, the instructions inside the lid and the plastic tape cover is intact with no cracks.

This vintage German model from the 60´s is one of the warmest sounding tape echos, preferred by many to the solid state machines of the 70´s like Roland Space Echo or korg Stage Echo.

Unfortunatly i have to sell this UNTESTED and as non working because I cannot test it due to lacking DIN (old German norm) cables.

This could be the chance for a collector or DIY buff to get a model for less money than usual- when these are fully working, they have gone for suns in excess of 400 EUR

en wat te denken van de HH electronics Echo Unit

er zijn naar mijn weten drie versies van,
-een tape echo met 1 verschuifbare afspeelkop,
-een tape echo met meerdere afspeelkoppen en een vaste tapesnelheid
-een digitale multitap echo

mijn versie is de eerste, met de enkele afspeelkop
de tapeloop is 3 tot 4,5 meter lang. wel fijn, zo doe je wat langer met een loop.
de band snelheid is ook vrij hoog, dus wat helderdere klank... geen crappy ultra vintage sound zoals een Melos of een Copicat, maar meer richting Roland Space Echo

Erg leuke Tape delays, waarvan de SE500 vijf afspeelkoppen heeft, een sound on sound functie. Daarnaast natuurlijk een feedback en tape speed knop. Twee inputs, A en B. Gebalanceerde in en output. Direct out en echo out. Input level switches. En zo'n heerlijke oldskool VU meter. Te besturen via voltage control (speed, feedback en aan/uit) en een bass en treble EQ erop.
Jammer dat er geen filter op zit, de EQ vind ik niet fantastisch. Het geluid wel!!

Ik heb zelf een RE-201 en een Echocord staan. Vooral Echocords (Dynacord) kom je best veel tegen op marktplaats ed. Door de bank genomen betaal je er 150-200 voor, maar dat is vrij grof ingeschat.

Ik heb nog een RE201 die ik zelden gebruik. Maar wegdoen is ook weer zo.... Daar ga ik spijt van krijgen denk ik. Maar als je hem wel verkoopt, wat krijg je er dan voor? Ik moet daarbij zeggen dat ie echt niet fonkelnieuw is.
